I have a friend who is forced to shoot Left Handed due to a Optical Problem. He wants to move into a Semi Auto Rifle in .223 Remington. He does not want a a Rifle that has the plastic Military Look, no AR etc... He also does not like the feel of a Ruger Mini 14.

I am stumped with my weak Google-Fu...

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Well, that's pretty much all of 'em. AR family, SCAR, FS2000, Kel-Tec SU-16, Century C93, Saiga, SLR-106, AUG and Mini-14 are what come immediately to mind.

Remington no longer offers a 7400 in .223, if they ever did to begin with.

The bolt gun was gonna be my suggestion too. That is, unless you take an AR and put some wood furniture on it. That would get rid of your plastic. A wood stocked Saiga with the sporter style stock would not be plastic either. Unfortunately, I think if your friend doesnt want a rifle that is a military design, he is S.O.L.

How about the pump action Remington 7615 - doesn't fit his criteria, but maybe a compromise is in order. Browning BLR would also be a good consideration.
