Cool, I hand read they were not. Still requires the deep well barrel nut remover though.

So yes, the barrel comes off, the handguard is changeable...just like a real AR platform.

Cant you remove the butt plate on those where the brace attaches and replace it with a cap with a sling swivel or something? Essentially making it impossible to attach a brace? The other easy option would be the pinned and welded fake flash suppressor. Itll look cool too.
