"I did leave the national organization Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) prior to the last Goshen city election and rejoined recently. After first joining, the NRA sent post cards to all its local members suggesting they harass me. It was a distraction I didn’t need when there were so many other important issues. - See more at: http://www.goshennews.com/letters/x1927798064/LETTERS-FOR-JUNE-14-2014-Goshen-mayor-responds-to-letter?mobRedir=false#sthash.SqYujwKu.dpuf"

To a statist like Kaufman, hearing an opposing view is indeed a "distraction"

Also, has anybody else noticed how democrats all over are using the work "period" after all of their talking points? They do not sound like the tolerant beings they claim to be.

Mayor Allan Kauffman is a Democrat. Did the people of Goshen 'expect' anything different from Kauffman?

Looks like Kauffman lied (he would say 'strategized') to get some votes from pro-2A folks who were dumb enough to fall for it.

How's the Ron White saying go? Oh yeah, "Ya can't fix stupid".

Bush the First pulled similar crap just before his election. He joined the NRA with a lifetime membership before the election to make it look like he was pro-second, but not too long after his election, he threw a fit over the NRA calling some of his buddies "Jack Booted Thugs" and he gave up his NRA membership, followed by an executive order directing ATF to enforce the sporting purpose clause of the new ATF second amendment, which is what resulted in the Norinco MAK-90s and the like.

Lucky the "wonder from Goshen" doesn't have the power that Bush1 had.
