GFI in bathrooms

Are GFI outlets required to be installed in bathrooms or just be protected by a GFI?

Can a outlet in bathroom 2 be a regular outlet, but is after a GFI in bathroom 1, trip that and the outlet in bathroom 2 is dead.

I'm finding both, but don't know what one is right.

I think as long as that circuit is on a GFI your g2g

Gfci protection is required, can be an outlet in that bath, can be on same circuit as GFCI outlet in other bath, or GFCI breaker in panel

Every circuit in my house has a GFCI at the beginning.

A GFCI can protect other receptacles if wired correctly. Line is Voltage in and Load is out to subsequent receptacles. Easy to check, just trip the GFCI and see if it kills power to the other plugs

We have a GFCI outlet in the upstairs bathroom that feeds an outlet on the other side of the sinks, then runs to an exterior outlet, then to a half bath on the first floor, then to the MBR bathroom.





Took near an hour to figure out WTF was going on. There's a (standard) breaker labeled "GFCI outlet".
