After going to the local gun show today at the National Guard Armory, my Dad and I went over to the Freeman Field Air museum, and had a wondeful personally guided tour by Ted Jordan, museum founder, and one of the many individuals who have worked to create and maintain the museum.

I HIGHLY recommend a visit if you are at all interested in WWII history, our state's involvement in the war effort, or just looking for an inexpensive weekend activity. Admission is free, and is time well spent.

There were many artifacts from the war, including vintage photos, uniforms, and equipment. To me, the highlight of the tour was the artifacts that have been unearthed from various digs around the airport property, including parts from one of the Jumo jet engines that were used on the ME262, the worlds first miliarty jet aircraft.
