I'm looking at renting a house near Fontana Lake in NC. I plan to fish quite a bit but also my kids want to tube and swim during the day. Is this lake warm enough in early July to enjoy swimming or does it stay pretty cool due to the mountain streams feeding it?
Also, what kind of fishing is best there that time of year?
I've not met too many people who have fished or boated there. I've driven by it a number of times and it is gorgeous. I've also read that it has a wide variety of species of fish, from trout to muskie to bass, etc.
