Born and raised in Germany. I've been in law enforcement for 10+ years so I had access to firearms, training etc. but to get in touch with it as a private person there is SO MUCH to go through... And the general public's opinion on that is worse than the worst lefty over here

My father's family was from Germany.
No idea where.
I took a semester of German language course in high school.

I totally support that too! I also dontl't really plan to get back into active duty. Probably something in the field of training with POs, building a training site or so.

I basically quit the job and moved with my wife here, once I got my visa approved.

I had a HK P30 at first and later the department switched to the P30 SK (compact) for better concealment.

Then you are "good to go". Indiana is Constitutional Carry, so feel free to start carrying (either concealed or open) right away. (I'm assuming you're not a convicted felon or other federally prohibited person.)
