Born and raised in Germany. I've been in law enforcement for 10+ years so I had access to firearms, training etc. but to get in touch with it as a private person there is SO MUCH to go through... And the general public's opinion on that is worse than the worst lefty over here :runaway:
My father's family was from Germany.
    No idea where.
I took a semester of German language course in high school.

So, you say you've been law enforcement, not you were.
Does this mean you're actively working law enforcement here?
If so, was the transition difficult?

My bad, I was*... from what I found so far, you have to be an american citizen to become a PO in Indiana

I actually think I like that rule.
    No offense to you.

    Are you retired then?
There are quite a few law enforcement personnel on here, both active and retired.

What type of sidearm did you carry?

I totally support that too! I also dontl't really plan to get back into active duty. Probably something in the field of training with POs, building a training site or so.

I basically quit the job and moved with my wife here, once I got my visa approved.

I had a HK P30 at first and later the department switched to the P30 SK (compact) for better concealment.

Welcome from Greenwood, just north of you.. Martinsville is real America, good choice of a place to settle. Reach out when you get ready to hit the range, I get down that way once in a while to shoot.
Will do! I remember the Range USA in Greenwood from past visits but I'd really want to find a place to shoot where I just pay for the ammo, not the time or place.. even though I'd be willing to contribute:):
