Nope, won't need one, I shot one of these several years ago and fell in love with it, just never had a chance to pick one up till now. I have it's bigger brother, a 7.5" barrel for deer hunting, and shoot it several times a month.

That is one really attractive gun. I don't think I'm brave enough to put 100 rounds through one in a single sitting, but I hope you have a great time. I've heard nothing but good things about those!

Range Report

50 rounds down range today, and OMG this thing is a BLAST to shoot !!!!!!

For those of you that are recoil sensitive, you would probably shoot the Alaskan, but most likely not enjoy it.
For anyone that really enjoys big bore handguns, you would love this gun, and if you stop by ECPR after it opens to the public this spring, I might just let you shoot her.

Congrats on finding one! I have the .44 mag version, and love it. I bought mine at bass pro a 2009, simply because they were the only place that had em, and I have not seen an Alaskan since! I want a 480, but doubt I'll ever find one. Love the Hogue grips too, makes it quite comfortable on the hands.

thats a bad mofo. i bet its all over the place ! i bought the full size super redhawk as a pillow gun... just kiddn about the pillow not the gun. next to the .50 it is my most favorite wheel.
