I didn't see anything when I looked for this with INGO search... Anyway, I need to replace the red fiber optic strand in the front sight on my Wolf. Does anyone have any idea what diameter that red strand is? I think it's silly to replace the whole front sight, as everything but the red strand is in great shape on mine. Either my google-fu has become weak, or maybe everyone else just replaces the whole sight--dunno. What I did find is several different diameters of fiber optics that I could use, but I'm not in the mood to guess, as I almost always end up guessing wrong.

Any insight (get it??) would help immensely!

Apparently, nobody here has ever had this problem... Does anyone happen to have a Wolf with this kind of sight and a caliper? If I had an accurate way of measuring the blasted thing, I'd have done so already. :dunno:

I know what you are talking about. I have seen this done on other pistols and rifles. But I'm sorry to say I don't know the specifics of your firearm. Is the manufacturer still in business? (not familiar with "Wolf") If so, maybe you could contact them directly.

CVA's proprietary Durasight fiber optic strand is small--too small to accurately measure with a ruler. Aside from not seeing a suitable "generic" fiber optic piece at Gander (I actually took a CVA Wolf with this sight on it over to the aisle with the replacement FO stuff for comparison), that's all I know for sure about the actual diameter. Sadly, I've tried pretty much every keyword I know and cannot come up with any actual specs for it online. :(
