Does anyone have a reference on how to decode the Federal lot number scheme to a mfg year?

I've found some references but they don't include the letter 'X' which I believe is in the year spot.

    Format is P##X###.

Other info I saw says first two numbers indicate caliber (which matched ammo I have), 'X' is the year and last three numbers are a Julian date + 400. Seems to match except the info I found did not have 'X' included in the definition of years.

I'm curious to what the mfg year was for this ammo I've acquired.
