I suspect he would ask, what are you waiting on? Will you wait until the doors of the box cars open, so that you may enter like an obedient beast?
He would probably say “Look what we did with horses—you have the Internet! Get your asses in gear and save our Republic! And if the Internet doesn’t work, you have much better **** than we had…”.
More like late 1800s where all comms were wired and used intermittent signaling and agricultural and industrial production were not dependent on electricity. The US population then was only about 38.5 million and only about 1/4 was urban
