I am thinking of purchasing a kit to apply duracoat at home. I saw the kit for $50 online. Does anyone have experience with this or any pointers? I plan on refinishing a mossberg 500a my buddy has trashed for practice.

put up a link to the "kit" if i recall the one midway sells comes with a cheapy harbor freight spray gun that will work, but will not hold up to hard use....
duracoat is incredibly easy until you start trying to get into the multi color camo patterns....

buy it and try it, thats the best way to learn IMO

i think that kit would do you well... the only thing i would almost definatly add is a dehumidifier for the line coming off the compresser.... you dont want ANY moisture getting into that paint.

I have used Duracoat on over 25 different guns. Everything from .22 derringer to waterfowl hunting shotguns. It is great! If you are concerned about wear you can use their clear covercoat. Surface prep is everything when it comes to good results.

New to the forum! Will post intro later..
