All, This is my first new AR upper, I got a DTI as part of their 15% off sale. Overall it looks decent as far as fit and finish. I have a few overall concerns that I need to check out, but the first of them is that if I am cycling ammo through the gun (with the safety on) the first one will go in and out no problem. At some point the second, third, fourth will get stuck in it and it will be a REAL pain to get it to release and cycle the next round.

Could this be just because I haven't actually shot it yet and some parts need to "wear in"?

Could be it needs some break-in,
but hand cycling the ammo isn't going to tell you much at all.
The system needs to run under actual firing conditions to learn anything of value.
    lube it and shoot it.

Word to the wise on hand cycling...the AR does have a floating firing pin. If you're letting the bolt slam home, that pin is hitting the primer, even with the safety "on." It shouldn't be enough to set off a round, but it just takes once...
