    havent had the time to go out and test again with a new mag. its a carbine BTW. ill give it a test tomorrow if i have the time.

    Bet you $10 you will be fine with a good mag. Had the EXACT same thing happen to me with a dirty gas tube. Simply could not believe how bad the tube could get that fast (under 1k). Welcome to the AR. Oh, those silly looking gas tube pipe cleaners are now my friend...

    Oh, and take a camera with you to the range.
