I was just curious what everyone was doing now to be physically prepped. I am the Co-Owner of JoCo Crossfit in Franklin, IN, I thought if anyone was looking for any advice or something different I could help.

I used to do that Crossfit thang'. Got out of it about 5 months ago, but I gained immense strength and increased my running distance by about 400% and cut my times almost in half across the board.

Right now Im staying focused on dropping weight. 6'3'' @ 234 now. Wanting to get down to 215 before I head back to the gym.

Once I get to that point I will go back to lifting and running.

P90X and I LOVE it! My strength has improved dramatically, I'm 5 lbs away from my goal weight and my endurance is double what it used to be. The nutrition makes a big difference. I've started juicing all my fruits and veggies on top of changing my entire diet.

For cutting weight make sure your diet is in check. It doesn't matter how much you workout if your diet sucks. And don't forget muscle burns more than fat, so don't think you have to lose weight before you start lifting or running.

P90x is a good way to get in shape. If you are looking to supplement it with more I suggest Insanity. Also the diet with P90x is actually pretty good. If you do good with it I would suggest looking into the Zone diet.

I see you are in Greenwood. If you are ever in the Franklin area stop buy the gym if you want to give it a try.

I totally revamped what I was doing 10 weeks ago as of tomorrow. All organic, hormone and preservative free whole foods. Carb days Wednesday and Sunday.... I know I know, paleo crossfitters think that carbs are the devil. However, I was on Paleo for 5 months and never felt ****tier than I did in that time. I went to a professional and had him set me up with a good meal plan and supplement regiment. Its pretty much a rendition of the cyclical ketogenic diet

I agree with you about the carbs. Your body need those carbs if you are working at high intensities. That's why I think the zone diet or a combination of both would be the ideal diet. But it sounds like you are on the right track.
    Good Luck.

That's awesome. I appreciate the invite and may just take you up on it in the future.

I've got all I can handle with p90x right now but at some point I'm gonna wanna switch it up. I'll look into the zone diet as well. Rep inbound.

There is a better chance that we'll die in a car crash, from cancer, or in ripe old age than finding ourselves in a doomsday situation. I work out regularly to stay healthy and to live a good life. I'm more concerned about giving my lady three hours of continuous, mind-blowing loving than being able to hump twenty miles with my bug out bag with little food or water in the aftermath of a nuclear war.

So, any advice for me to achieve my goal? I am guessing... glutes? High reps, maybe? Some sort of German Volume Training with the deadlift? Endurance seems more important than, urh, size.

Core muscles are probably important for this, right?

Correct you should exercise more for your everyday life than a doomsday situation. I just thought this could be a good topic of discussion.

As far as your goals go. You should do some powerlifting movements. This will help you increase your hip extension power (i.e. "thrusting" power). I would also include some cardio, running or swimming would be best. This will improve your longevity over time.

    Then there is always viagra.
