This 1-day class covers the basic defensive use of the shotgun. It begins with the basics, including proper zeroing of your carbine, fundamentals of marksmanship, safety, manipulations, reloads (tactical & speed), and malfunctions. Students will increase their proficiency in close to midrange firing, defensive engagement of targets, ballistics, the use of cover and move into more advanced drills. Primary focus is raising the accuracy level and tactical handling of the shotgun.
This course reviews the fundamentals and then focuses on refining accuracy and multiple target engagements. Drills will emphasize weak shoulder, moving, awkward positions, prone firing, dim light techniques, and moving into more advance long-range engagements.
Fights are won by solid fundamentals and this course will teach you those fundamentals. This course is great for anyone who wants to dramatically improve their shooting skill.

Considering signing up. A couple of questions:

    1. Curriculum says "Transition shotgun to pistol to carbine drills", and Required Equipment mentions 50 rounds of pistol. Are students to bring a pistol and carbine? If so can you provided any specifics about holsters/slings/etc.?

    2. Should the shotgun have a sling?

    Thanks for any clarification.

I took the class. It was my first shotgun class of any kind so I have nothing to exactly compare it to but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Eric was an adaptive instructor who tailored the class to the students. I got a lot out of it and would absolutely take another class from him.

Instruction included firing from the weak side, patterning with slugs and buckshot, firing from different positions, malfunction clearance and a constant emphasis on keeping the gun fed.

Really enjoyed learning more about running the shotgun in general and getting a chance to run mine in particular through it's paces. I now trust the gun and have upgraded it in my mind to my first option home defense weapon.
