Defensive Handgun 101
I take the D5 Handgun course from HSP and condense it down into 1 day. Its not as advanced as the D5 course but its not a NRA Basic level class.
Day breaks down as such:
08:00 - Class begins, safety brief, introductions.
08:30 - Modified Qualification Course - mostly just to see where everyone is currently at
09:00 - Deputy Kingery presentation of the legal ramifications of using your firearm in a defensive shoot in both your home and in a public setting.
10:00 - Classroom Draw, Proper Grip, Stance and using your Body to manage recoil
10:30 - Range to apply class room work
11:00 - Lunch and Classroom work
12:30 - Range work on trigger discipline drills and accuracy drills
14:30 - Classroom to cover positional work
15:30 - Range Rest of the day to apply everything from classroom and remainder of the course.

DEVELOPED FOR BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED SHOOTERS, DEFENSIVE HANDGUN IS DESIGNED TO GIVE STUDENTS A TEMPLATE FOR INCREASING; MENTAL ACUITY, FOCUS, DEXTERITY, BALANCE AND SPATIAL AWARENESS WHILE PERFORMING SKILL BASED HANDGUN MANIPULATIONS. THESE SAME SKILLS HAVE DIRECT APPLICATION IN YOUR DAILY LIFE AND YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU. THE DEFENSIVE HANDGUN PROGRAM WILL NOT JUST MAKE YOU A BETTER SHOOTER. IT WILL HELP YOU FIND PERFORMANCE AND UNDERSTANDING IN ALL ASPECTS OF YOUR LIFE.
