From what the article said, I'd figure this to be a legitimate shooting since the daughter claimed not to know the boy, then the "unknown" boy argues with the dad and teaches for something. Daughter shouldn't have snuck the kids into the house and her bed, and then shouldn't have led about it. In Indiana, castle doctrine would apply. I imagine it's the same in Texas.
