I look forward to looking through other scopes at the SGE to see differences between various brands and models.

The 500 yard target will most likely sit back into a slightly wooded area and it really exposes the differences in light collection and transmission of the scopes. Again. my aging eyes....I never thought about any of this before age 45.

If its a windy day, the range set up has, umm, interesting winds.

For those into the optic hole, check out these videos. SWFA is a lot of scope for the $ (admit: fanboy). I have a 10x mil/mil. Great stuff for guys like us who can't buy S&B or Steiner glass for every rifle.

A Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39 would make a good bolt gun right now for shooting out a few hundred yards or so and not breaking the bank. They're fairly accurate with steel case ammo.
That "steel case" term keeps popping-up !.....I shudder ! :nailbite:
For me, only the chamber of a commie AK will ever see such a beast (unles it's war ! )

Will check those out after my current town hall meeting concludes. Irritated that work is interfering with my hobby... :laugh6:

I know, my opinion of steel case ammo does not coincide with the majority in here. I could explain my logic, but it won't change anyone else's opinion. And that's okay. We can't all agree on everything, because if we did, it would pretty boring conversation in here.

I know it's out there, it's down to what I can afford to pay. I bought 60 rounds of match grade ammo for $30 per box. I bought non-match grade ammo for $20 per box. More than that is outside of what I'm willing to part with, at least right now. I've depleted my gun fund and then some, so I have to wait a while to let it build back up.
Procuring BCM will deplete the gun fund, no doubt.....but oh, so worth it !
