    They must be trying to test the water without landing in court, otherwise the tax likely would have been prohibitively expensive. I find it interesting that they expect any result other than driving gun sales outside the county in spite of their attempt to punish the honest and somehow expect it to have an effect on crime, even it is it simply stealing money from one group to pay expenses incurred by a second group due to direct illegal actions by a third group. Makes sense I suppose if you happen to be a leftist.

    I think they will try to make it if anyone sells to residents of Cook County they have to pay the tax. The board tried that a couple of years ago when they raised sales taxes to higher then California. They almost got away with it as well.

    What was I thinking? I keep forgetting that Cook County and surrounding Soviet Socialist Republics make no real pretense at operating according to the rule of law, especially not US law.
