Considering land purchase

I'm considering purchasing land for some outdoor recreational stuff. I'd like to be able to so some shooting once a proper backstop is in place. How do I determine if there are any ordinances surrounding discharging a firearm on my own property? If the property is outside of city limits, am I clear or are there any counties wide regulations?

Go visit the City County council, at one of the meetings .....

Or talk to the County Sheriff .....

Visit or call the the planning and zoning department of the city or county where you are considering the purchase. If it's a really small jurisdiction, they may only have a building department.
