I was happy to see Heilo win again. He ran a heck of a race yesterday! What I still dont understand is why they tried to keep him in his car at the end. I went to the race yesterday and was sitting kind of close to where he stopped his car just past the start/finish line. They tried to keep him moving before he stopped, then did everything but hold him in his car at the end. No clue what was going on there.
The TV coverage made it sound like they wanted him to go straight to victory lane instead of climbing the the fence. My guess is that the officials that were stopping him were doing what they were told (send him to Victory Lane), and race control let them know over the radio that he could climb the fence.
It would not suprise me if it was because of ABC. They're infamous for cutting away from the Indy Car races to show crap like a cow chip tossing tournament from 1987.
