SOLD-Colt 2" Detective Special .38 + Bucheimer Holster
**SOLD ON GUNBROKER**
For sale is a Colt Detective Special .38 with a 2 inch barrel plus a Bucheimer open carry detective's holster. This pistol is a 2nd issue model with the extended grips, and it was made in 1967. The story behind this pistol is that I bought it from a retired Deputy Chief of Police who claimed that he stored it for over 25 years without firing it. He bought it along with the holster from a retiring officer when he first joined the police department, and stored it because he didn't have a use for it. I took it to the range once and fired it with a variety of bullets and it shot nice tight groups which impacted the point of aim dead center at about 10 and 15 yards. Then when I fired it at 25 yards, just about every shot hit the left side of a paper plate target. I can personally assure that this Colt shoots very accurately. Unfortunately, the backstrap was left unprotected for too long during the summer and the humidity caused some freckling to develop on it. The freckling problem should be able to be improved. This revolver is otherwise a really nice, tight, clean and good shooter with only some holster wear as shown in the close up photos. The holster allows the short barreled revolver to be drawn on a target faster than a person can say McDonald's. There isn't any strap on this holster to interfere with the revolver when it's drawn, it simply provides a deep, snug, friction fit that fits the gun like a glove. It's a quality holster made with a superior fit and design for police duty.
I'm willing to separate the pistol and holster if someone is only interested in the pistol alone for a $15 reduction in price. I'm asking for $375 shipped for both the holster and pistol. It will be shipped from a Connecticut FFL dealer to the buyer's FFL dealer. The price for only the pistol is $360 with shipping included.
Subject to prior sale.
