I am thinking of buying a used Colt 1991a1 Compact. I am left handed, does anyone know if the mag release on these is reversible like the M&P?

I would call Colt and ask, but I am meeting the guy later today and being Thanksgiving, well you know....

You're going to be hard-pressed to find a 1911 with a reversable mag release, I believe.

Best thing to do is just practice practice practice the way it is.

Once you become familiar with the weapon, you can depress the mag release as quickly with your trigger finger as you can with your thumb. Lefties have dealt with that for many, many year.

1991 is Colt's entry line of 1911's with a firing pin safety.
They used to have a billboard logo of "1991" so they weren't very pretty.
