The lawsuit was filed by Everytown Law, the litigation arm of Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, along with the city’s Law Department and the firm Mayer Brown LLP.

Probably going to be decided by which goes bankrupt first, and, well...

I dont see how a local court in Illinois has any authority over anything contained within Indiana.

Daley II and crook co. ILL. sued gun mfgs. and 12 gun stores including 6 in Indiana in around 1998. Then, as now Chicago couldn't and can't solve their "plain as the nose on your face" murders.

Are they going to sue automobile manufacturing companies for selling cars to felons that they used to commit crimes as well?

People (anti-gunners) are okay with deaths from cars.
They are familiar with, and use, cars.. unlike guns.
Also, the news doesn't make car injuries/deaths a national news cycle.

I know the store and the owner. Shopped there for 30yrs.. They do everything by the book and triple check every sale. Tell Mayor Groot to keep her trash in Illinois.
I hope so. If you're gonna run an FFL in that part of the state, you better have your ducks spit-shined and in a row. It shouldn't have to be that way, but it is.

This store is in Gary, IN. If they do indeed triple check everything, this suit should go away rather quickly.

I have been there several times and bought my first gun there. Not only did everything seem to be on the up and up, but there was a local police presence every time I was there. Doesn't seem like a place where Chicago hoodlums would want to hang out.

What would be illuminating, and will likely come out in court if it gets that far, is what percentage of the guns traced to that particular store ended up in criminal hands via theft. I'm guessing it's probably high.

I stopped in there a few years ago before a show at the casino. I didn't think anyone lived in Gary anymore...
Actaeon is all about danger. As a submariner he held one of the most difficult and dangerous jobs the military offers, as a steel mill worker he works in one of the most dangerous civilian environments, and he lives in Gary. I am happy to have him as a friend and not an enemy!

The good news is that firearm industry groups usually steps up to provide a defense. I was on the team defending several firearms makers in the infamous "Gary Gun Case". That case involved gun shops as well.

Also good news- these cases do not usually go well in Indiana and unless they have some magic hoo-hah, getting jurisdiction in Illinois will not be easy. Hopefully, it is impossible. Just because guns sold in your shop end up in Illinois- not good enough.

    I will be following this.

Oh, and I feel like I need a new gun...something in stock at Westforth.
