After watching a documentary about Chicago Mob and operation Family Secrets it made me really start to wonder about the upturn in violence that Chicago currently has. One of the thoughts that came to my mind is now that they took down the Mob leadership roughly ten years ago it actually made crime worse in the city by no longer having someone rule or at least keep the criminals somewhat in line. The society that the criminals operate also have so called rules and now there is a vacuum that is left unfilled. I understand that the Mob did not have control over various street thugs but I can't help wondering if this has something to do with it. Thoughts?
