Since reading a few of the other threads on these boards and reading the IC statutes on it. I'm thinking its legal for teachers to carry, and chaperones on field trips. I'm sure the cops and the courts would not agree but from how the law is worded IMHO it does allow it.
IC 35-47-9-1
Exemptions from chapter
(2) A person who has been employed or authorized by:
(A) a school; or
(B) another person who owns or operates property being used by a school for a school function;
to act as a security guard, perform or participate in a school function, or participate in any other activity authorized by a school.
A teacher is employed to participate in a school function ie teaching. And when I chaperone my kids field trips I'm authorized to participate in the activity. IANAL but that is how it reads. Am I right or am I
