Well, here it is. I found it at USDS in Columbus a little over a month ago and decided to jump and put it in layaway. Just came home yesterday. I really like the look of it. Haven't taken it out to shoot yet but I field stripped and cleaned it up and oiled it today. Been wanting a 1911 for years but dont know much about em. Time to learn. Think I'll run this one as is for a while.

Congratulations on your first 1911, and a mighty fine one at that. I personally am a big fan of Springfield. The Ronin looks especially nice and I really like that it comes with a usgi guide rod and plug instead of the crappy two piece full length guide rod setup. I would love to get one myself in 9mm someday for a suppressor host honestly.

Its in .45 with the 5" barrel. Wanted to try something other than 9mm this time and I've just always wanted a 1911 in .45, the way JMB intended.
1911s can be very addictive. Before you know you will have the same problem many of us suffer from..just can't have enough of em....lol

I keep popping into this thread because the Ronin looks so nice. I wish they would release a version with the slide in black armory coat like on their trp and operator line.

Congratulations on a fine 1911...they're a great pistol and there's a reason the design has lasted for 100+ years...they're a solid pistol!
In .45 acp...be sure to try the lighter grain bullets through it, especially the 185 grain... they run super smooth with a lighter recoil! 200 grain runs pretty good too!
When one can appreciate what the 1911 has been, and has done for the shooting world, you'll enjoy it for a lifetime!

Congratulations on the 1911 in .45 acp just as JMB intended. You will become a 1911 addict and don't be surprised if another one follows you home someday; hopefully sooner rather than later.

Congrats on jumping into the 1911 world with a great looking Ronin! It took a long time for me to join as I kept wondering what all the fuss over 1911s was all about. Two friends; a coworker and a fellow firefighter, kept telling me..."Just shoot one and you'll see..." (Ya right I kept thinking). Well, they sure WERE right. The trigger and balance of a 1911 are just great! Can't believe I was a holdout for so long either. Enjoy your Ronin and I promise it won't be your last 1911.

That's a fine looking 1911. I like the two tone look.

My first 1911, and second pistol ever was a Springfield Loaded model. Many have followed it.

I hope the 1911 bug bites you hard.....it's a great platform.

Thanks all, I'm really liking it so far. Took it out for the first time today. Felt really good. I do think the reset on the trigger felt a little gritty though. Could just be I'm used to my M&Ps or might need worked in a little.
Heres my first 5 shots at 7yds with some Fed 230gr ball.
