    as far as .308 battle rifles go for $700 you could get a Century metric FAL post-ban at J&Gsales.com, i spend a lot of time on falfiles and they seem to be ok shooters from what others have said, the thumbhole stock fal's can be had for less but if you want it to look like its supposed to you buying the 922r parts, getting a barrel threaded, correcting bad headspace gets much more expensive...Cetme's can be had for $400 to $550 but have to check their bolt gap, and poor chamber fluting can be a problem, however mags are cheap still.

    I was talking to a guy at the range a week or so ago that had a Century fal, and he said he bought it for $800 and he only had 2 jams. He said that was do to ammo and mag. It shot around a 3" at a 100 yards, that is about averge for a basic fal
