I finally got my annual To Me, From Me, Love Me Christmas Present…a Beretta Silver Pigeon III and am struggling to find any good info from Beretta on stock care (nothing in the manual or on their website which is terrible and unorganized I know).

It’s oil finished, yet a little glossier than the SPI. The only info I’ve found is from other 15+ year old forums claiming info they pulled from Berettas website recommending BC Tru-oil or George Brothers Lin-Speed oil.

I figured out reach out to the group and get some insight for those of you taking care of oil finished stocks.

What do you use to clean/wipe down after use?
Do you use anything different for longer term periodic care and how often?
How do you like the products listed above on an existing stock finish?

    Thanks,

I ended up reaching out to Coles Guns and they recommended using Timberluxe to achieve what I was after…waterproofing the wood and enhancing the grain.

I started with the forend to get a good side by side pic against the stock. Lightly sanded the it inside and out with 0000 steel wool. Three coats of timberluxe over three days right over the top of the factory oil finish. The grain really pops now. May end up knocking the gloss down after the final coat…will decide after I do the buttstock.

Hard to get a good pic without glare. The attached pic doesn’t do it justice for how nice the wood looks now.
