Beretta 84 Slide Lock Issue

Sometimes when I pull the slide back and eject the magazine, the slide will "unlock" and snap back. It doesn't do it all the time, but 60-70% of the time. It just recently started. I bought the gun used a few years ago and I use both a standard Beretta magazine as well as a factory clone. It happens with either mag.

Any suggestions on the cause and possible fixes?

I had borrowed a Beretta 70s that would not slidelock on the empty mag using the slidelock, but on the magazine follower. That could be the cause. The slide would be locked back on the mag follower, you take the mag out, the slide would release.
