ATF Brace Ruling 2023 Question?

I realize this ruling is very early. I’m sure there will be lots of courts cases.. but as it stands I was curious about the wording in section iv

(iv) Whether the surface area that allows the weapon to be fired from the shoulder is created by a buffer tube, receiver extension, or any other accessory, component, or other rearward attachment that is necessary for the cycle of operations;


How does Ingo interpret this… I’m interested in the cycle of operations comment..
example ——ruger charger in 9mm that has an adapter but isn’t a buffer tube. Has a definite attachment but isn’t part of the cycle of operations..
I also realize this is up for interpretation but was curious about that definition..

New BATF ruling on stabilizing braces today

Can anyone catch me up on the status of the whole Pistol Brace ruling? My understanding is that as of now nothing has officially changed (meaning stabilizing braces can be used on AR pistols) but that they are talking about instituting new classification rules.
