Can anyone catch me up on the status of the whole Pistol Brace ruling?
My understanding is that as of now nothing has officially changed (meaning stabilizing braces can be used on AR pistols) but that they are talking about instituting new classification rules.

    In short:
it's not illegal but the NFA is fixin' to say it is. And if you don't have a good attorney when they come after you for using one, you'll be in a heap of trouble.

You are correct except for instances when you are wrong.

That about all the clarity you are going to get...

As far I know, we are back to where we were with braces being OK (for now - until they aren't). My understanding is the comment period expired without new regulation (i.e. the Honey Badger brace issue). That is, until they issue a new regulation.

That's how it reads to me. Glad that millions of people aren't being made into felons overnight.

OTOH, this seems like the perfect time to start a new 9mm AR pistol build!

Just stay tuned. Even when they release the rules, there is going to be a flurry of lawsuits. I own many braced pistols and I am holding pat until things shake out legally. Unlike when I chopped up my bump stock.

Picked up a spare 16 inch barrel for my AR9 braced pistol. If they change the rules, I will swap out the barrel.

    the way i see it...

as long as the "justice" system keeps reducing felons into victims, we owe it to our fellow honest americans to be as civilly disobedient as possible.

i'm not saying that i look forward to becoming a felon because i work, buy, and enjoy what i pay for but, i am willing to argue on the street corner, in the courthouse, and on a soapbox for the right to mind my business.

honest citizens are screwed everytime a felon is reduced to a misdemeanor and a hardworking american is demonized.

just as the argument that "material things can replaced" holds no weight with me. it's mine. i worked and paid for it. if a criminal doesn't want to get shot over MY belongings, he'd better stay away from MY things
