There is a little lever at the end of the knife that you push and the blade flips out. Anybody have an idea what these are worth?

AFAIK - If the lever releases a blade that is propelled into the open position by a spring that is under pressure.... that's a "switch-blade" and is illegal. If the lever allows you to use your thumb power to flip the blade open, then it's OK. :patriot:

Yeah it definitely sounds like an auto knife then.

The "spring-assisted" openers only get around the law because the opening force is actually applied directly to the blade to start the opening motion, and not a separate lever, switch, or button.

    Stupid laws. . . .

Not much, I'm afraid :). I bought some a few years ago at our strawberry festival in Crawfordsville for less than 10 bucks each.

(mine looks like the "switch-comb" knock-off that Billy Creek Village used to have years ago :D)

Your Hubertus is a high quality switchblade made in Germany. They are collectible and you can search ggole to get a rough idea of it's value.

Not to hijack the thread but.... Let's say you are digging through the attic to get stuff for a yardsale. You find a knife that looks a lot like a pocket knife. There is a button on the side. When it is pushed, the blade flips out. You then realize that it is considered illegal in your state. What do you do with it then?

    Destroy it.

Anything else (like selling, transporting, giving away, possessing, etc) is illegal in Indiana.

    (again, stupid law. . .)

But what if your 'knife destruction device' were, say, in Kentucky.
And when you get caught with it, you were on your way to destroy it.

    Yeah, I know. I know.
    M-O-O-N spells switchblade!
    Laws yes!
