I've shot the AK and own an SKS, and just today became an owner of the Saiga 20ga.
Depending on your usage either is better. Both can be loaded quickly enough, if not the SKS faster, BUT the SKS with a Fixed mag only holds 10 rounds. That's not to say you can't take a detachable Tapco mag and not remove it and still load it with stripper clips! Do that with your AK!
Accuracy, hands down the SKS. I can "boom the bad guy" (as my 3yo son says) at 100yds, no scope every 19/20 shots and I need new glasses. Don't think you can do that with an AK.
Weight, meh, never held both back to back, plus I prefer the Tapco Fusion stock on my SKS so it's lighter still.
Price, SKS, oh yea. 250-300 for a nice one. AK... MINIMUM 600 anywhere you look. FOR A WASR!!! *sigh* I still want a Dragunov....
BTW, I own a 20" Norinco, not the 16" fire-breathing dragon! LOL
