I agree. Folks worry way too much over it. Fire a round. Check the fired case. If it is not all blown out in large proportions, you are GTG.

The only reason I would think a go / no go gauge would be needed is if you had built a rifle from a parts kit that didn't include the original barrel. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it unless the spent shell casing showed signs of problems like sloughfoot pointed out.
