My wife purchased a S&W Airweight 38SPL about a year ago and after a few trips to the range she decided to try something else. I am looking at a trade for an XD 40 Compact. She likes the look and feel of the XD much better.
I think she will enjoy using the XD much more that the Airweight.
Any thoughts from the INGO crowd?

    Happy New Year everyone!

I carried a Xd .40 service (4") for a couple of years. I never had a single malfunction. It cycled every brand and type of ammo I fed it. They are on the bigger and heavier side of the spectrum. Overall though, they are a great platform. They are both accurate and reliable.

I'm an XD guy myself, but the S&W Airweights are great guns too. I think it's great she wants to try something else, but it's the beginning of a very slippery slope! By this time next year she'll prolly have 2 or 3 more, lol!

On a serious note... it is a semi auto. She needs to practice on a regular basis with it to stay confident and proficient. Good luck!

I had an XD9SC and an XD40SC. Both were great guns.

What was her complaint about the airweight? If it was felt recoil, you may want to consider the 9mm instead of the .40.
