    I had one of these on a Bushmater years ago.

    and it worked great. The .223 doesn't have tons of recoil, but it definately helped out. On my last two AR's, I've had the same type of muzzle brakes and flash hiders s what Tyler suggested. they work pretty well also.

    If the XCR has 1/2x28 threads, then take a look at any one of the following comps that are in wide use in 3-gun/multi-gun competition.

    JP Rifles Cooley
    DPMS/Bang Inc Miculek
    S&J Customs Lund/Titan
    Flatland Forge F2
    Nordic Components Tactical Compensator

    These are all highly efficient and help the rifle stay put. You're right, .223 doesn't have a lot of recoil anyway, but every bit that you can manage helps.

    If you find some let me know, I would like one for my AK but it has LH 14 threads, we could split the shipping and I can't sleep thinking about the 10.00 :laugh:
