    Steve, Steve, Steve... you're over thinking this man! You've got a war rifle. It's not a precision long range competition rifle. Get out there and shoot the dang thing, will ya?? :): :stickpoke: You mentioned you have some Turk. It will work just fine. :)

    This thread has a lot of good examples of the various headstamps on surplus ammo that you may encounter. As I think I said in your original thread, avoid Iranian or Egyptian ammo. Those two can be problematic (not necessarily unsafe, but lots of duds and hangfires).

    As long as you're using decent quality factory ammo, don't sweat the details, but shoot several different brands until you find the one that does best for the purposes of your rifle (target shooting or hunting, or ???) and for accuracy, then stick to that.
    If you're intending to go into handloading for it, follow the same basic advice (make your first loads on the low end of the manual's recommend powder charge scale, etc.) you would use for any other bottleneck rifle cartridge.
