Got my new grip frame screws to clean up dad's old beater Superblackhawk.
It doesn't letter coming from Ruger w brass gripframe.
But it does wear a Ruger brass grip frame.
I remember Gil Hebard catalogs having aux Ruger frames and this gun went from Ruger to GH.
So I dunno if it was frame swapped there, came from factory and error in paperwork (had that happen before) or my dad did the swap.
No matter what, since its worn and doesn't letter (first go around) I say chop it down.

Trying to decide on what length for Bowen to do.
5.5" looks good, so does 6".
6.5 is still a little long.
    Aesthetics is what we're after.

    Heck could go 5".

    6" looks good w Maximum ejector rod/shroud.
However those would all be NM and mine is an OM, w studded barrel.
Plus I already swapped it over to a steel BRC shroud.
Hunting for pics of conversions on the web (nothing else to do LOL)

Seeing you asked; I prefer a 5.5" barrel length. This leaves approximately .875" between the end of the barrel and end of the ejector housing. It just seems to look correct.

The old Cowboy Colt SAA were commonly 5.5 inches. It is probably just because we are used to it, but the 5.5 inch looks right.

My Super Redhawk is 9.5 and does not look right sitting on display, and does not even balance well, but it definitely puts a big hole right where I aim it.

I say 5.5" minimum. 6" I think would be the sweet spot for looks and velocity.
