762x39?That will depend on distance.
What would be a good range? It will definitely do the job if you get within range.
Depending on bullet choice and optic or ironsWhat would be a good range?

I think this is about spot on.Depending on bullet choice and optic or irons
I would say out to 125-150 yards. I would probably talk to them about average range.
I don't know about that particular place, but I've seen quite a few things with people taking them with bows, pistols and airguns. So it is possible to do.I think this is about spot on.
The .44mag is a killer inside 100 yards.
Start trying to stretch it out too much further and you not only get significant bullet drop, it also loses a lot of velocity and energy.
Just a guess, but I'm going to say you're going to need to reach out a little bit further than the .44mag will reach effectively.
I could be wrong. I know of at least one other time...
Well then, it's at least twice now then...I don't know about that particular place, but I've seen quite a few things with people taking them with bows, pistols and airguns. So it is possible to do.
I think you're probably thinking of a different type of sheep. These are not really built for cliff dwelling and Tennessee is about as mountainous as it likely gets for them.Well then, it's at least twice now then...
Somehow I just pictured them living on the side of a cliff like Big Horn Sheep.
Most all of the videos I have seen of those hunts, the shots are more like 4-500 yards.
Like, from one mountain peak to another.
Yeah, not at all what came to my mind.I think you're probably thinking of a different type of sheep. These are not really built for cliff dwelling and Tennessee is about as mountainous as it likely gets for them.
