Reminds me of the "Hints from Heloise" column in the paper. Things like " I keep a towel on a rack near the sink so it will be easy to dry those wet hands after washing".

    ROFLMAO .. my 2 favorite …

#26 … Doritos are great for kindling if you can’t find any.

I think this guy meant tinder. None-the-less, if you can’t find any kindling, how are you going to find any fuelwood? Plus the picture is chock full of kindling (and tinder).

I’m guessing this one is from a Doritos hater.

#38 … Bring microfiber towels – they’re super absorbent and lightweight.

Hell, if you bring a Sham WOW, you won’t even need raingear!

These camping "hacks" are written just for camping hacks. The only genius is if the author found a way to actually get paid for this tripe.

Yeah, I'll just eat my Doritos in the cold darkness if I can't start a fire.

It's not on the list, but I just found the Vaseline inside a cotton ball trick for keeping a flame going. I now have a pill bottle full of them just in case.

Yes sir, cotton balls all slathered up with Vaseline is one fine tinder. They catch and hold a spark like nobody's business, even in the rain. The problem is you can't really work with them since they're burning. Basically you set they where you want them to burn.

Char cloth on the other hand ... good 'ol black magic. Catch a spark and then do what you need to move it to your fire lay.

I always kept a 1 gallon baggie of dryer lint in my pack along with flint and steel. Usually could get a fire started pretty quick with that.
