There is a S&W K22 on Armslist right for $350. He gives it a 6/10 on condition, I’d be all over it if I hadn’t picked up the DW already.

2. I immediately went and looked though just in case it would call to me.

I ended with a S&W 63 .22. I really thought I wanted a 617, but for a fun gun, the 63 was smaller, lighter and more fun. The 617 is a big heavy gun. I'm sure it's great for target shooting. Giving up the 2 rounds was worth it.
