22 bolt gun for use w/ bird shot

Not exactly what you were asking but they actually make 22 cal smooth bore just for bird shot. A private seller had two for sale at pocket traders earlier in the year.

I have had good success at indoor turkey shoots using a Winchester model 67, a Remington 510, and another Remington model 41 (I think)....I won numerous hams and a bit of money as well...This was before smooth bores became common at these shoots...I believe the shallow rifling used in these older rifles, along with the longer barrel lengths may have contributed to their success....

Winchester shotshells, not the CCI with the plastic cap - helps avoid the rifling. Go magnum, if you can. Otherwise, any OLD, worn out barrel is good.

You get much more out of a smoothbore.

Marlin made a "garden gun" not long ago. Haven't seen one for a couple of yrs though.
Nothing fancy, just a hardwood stock bolt action smoothbore.

Savage has done a limited run currently on their 22 smooth bore. If you're looking this would be the time to get it.
