This is why I look forward to the weekends. I don't get time to grill much during the week, so I do everything on the weekends.

Pizza for lunch yesterday, followed by chicken breasts last night. Then made some amazing bacon wrapped meatloaf for lunch today.

I think I have an addiction.

Threw a couple-o-butts on the Bull last night at 10ish set at 180(extreme smoke mode).

Drove to work and realized I forgot to turn it up to 225.

    Not a problem...

There's another grillin/gun nut from Ferdinand?!?

I was just given a new control unit to turn my Green Mountain Daniel Boone into a Wifi model, gotta love my BBQ team sponsors. Sadly I can't get internet at my house (yet), so I wont be able to control it at work like you, but I can at least do it in wifi range of my grill.

    No. Sorry.

The model of my grill is "the Bull". In the app, it asks you to name your grill(s), in case you want to control multiple cookers. I named my Bull, Ferdinand.

The wife cranked up the grinder this morning and the bread is rising.
Got two slabs of sirloin and a bowl full of chick-ka-bobs marinating.

Sorry, no pics- I did a sirloin tip roast Saturday. 250 for 4 ish hours to 145 degree internal (the kids and wife like medium...I prefer near raw). It turned out great. I made an au jus in the foil pan under the roast. It's a leaner and relatively inexpensive cut of meat, meaning taking it up to near 200 is a bad idea, but this turned out like some of the best roast beef I've ever had.

I bought 2 eye of round roasts on sale. I did one up the same way I do tri-tip, and while it was edible, I don’t think I’d do it again. I sliced the other and made jerky... that’s a far better use for eye of round!

Okay, I have a traeger and I would like to try making a brisket.

I am not however a cook, never have been and probably never will be, my wife is the cook. She tried to make a brisket once and it was a miserable failure. She vowed to never do that again.

I'm asking for the collective wisdom of INGO, to help me out with a simple can't miss brisket recipe for use for the trigger. Something even I can't screw up.

What say you INGOians? Does anyone have that traeger recipe that you're confident even I can't screw up?

For your first one, I recommend just the flat. This recipe is near foolproof.

This was made with that recipe.

I think Rookie has a link to a tutorial. I followed it my first time and brisket came out great. At work on my phone now so I don’t have the link. It’s in this thread a couple pages back I think.

Did a Turkey Day test run over the weekend...

    125439982_3336974023067106_8947645142398429717_o.jpg

Spatchcoked and smoked it. Used this recipe for the brine(cause bourbon) and herb butter...

    BOURBON BRINED SMOKED TURKEY RECIPE

I loved it. Wife was not a fan. She's picky about spices. I think the rosemary, sage, and thyme in the herb butter were a little much for her.

Do you happen to have a vanilla recipe you would share?

Bet your kids  at that one.

We made it ALL the time when I was a kid. Birthdays, holidays, or just cause it was Tuesday and my dad wanted ice cream.

I logged sooooooooo many hours on a hand crank, White Mountain ice cream maker that I still have nightmares about it.

But the thing is, I LOVE homemade ice cream. One of the first things I bought after we bought our first house over 25 years ago was an electric, 6 quart White Mountain. Then I picked up another one at an auction. Then I got three more el cheapo, 4 quart ones.

The old girl still runs like a champ...
