Your crappy "kit" injection-molded plastic holster is the culprit.

Good thermoplastic, like a Kydex or Boltaron holster won't do this.

Well I plan on going with a Bravo Concealment holster asap, so that should fix my main problem. I am gonna still have AllenM refinish my slide once I figure out if I want to go with black again or a different color.

If you like the current color, it wouldn't be a bad idea to send it back to springfield to be recoated to make sure it wasn't a prep issue or something that was just sped up by the holster.

I think it looks better. Bigo334 also had me flush cut and crown the barrel too.

Btw your pistol is done but I wrote your phone number down wrong :(

I'm really excited about it. I know that AllenM does great work, and I have been wanting him to work on something for me. Now I am part of the club lol

Honest wear from use adds character imo, shoot the snot out of it! As long as it's not rusting I wouldn't worry about it.

There is a lot of appeal to a gun that's got a lot of patina from doing its job. As much as I love a good Cerakote job, I think I'd just keep going with it. Maybe wipe the holster out once in a while, but otherwise, let the gun keep doing it's job and earning its stripes.
