My BIL recently found his boy hood hunting rifle in the basement at his Mothers house. It was his grandfathers/fathers and then his.
It has some issues with the firing pin (mushroomed) and the breech block will not stay up. I believe it used to have a spring that kept it up until the it was pushed it down for loaded a shell. I have it totally disassembled and find what I believe is part of the missing spring.
My question, where would I find info on this gun. All the markings tell me is it is a Remington. There is a patented in 1902 stamped in the side. No model etc. anywhere I can find.

If it were not so valuable to BIL for memory's sake I would tell him to put it on the wall as a keep sake but he wants to teach his sons to shoot with it.

    Any info greatly appreciated.

The link worked great and they had the 3 parts I need for the little gun. Block spring/firing pin/firing pin retainer pin.
    Perfect....thanks.

Spent about an hour fitting the firing pin in the block. Still some refinement to do.
