1897 Winchester takedown, 16 Gauge, 28” barrel, serial number dates to 1903 and both halves match. Has normal handling marks a 120 year old shotgun will have. Everything functions as it should and slam fires if that’s your thing…everyone should do it at least once in their life. Bore has a few small pits that doesn’t effect it all, no bulges and has full choke. The halves lock up with very little play yet comes apart smoothly. The stock is strong and stable but has the typical two 2” hairline cracks at the wrist. Corncob forend has been glued, has another crack and survives normal handling (reflected in price). A replacement would be necessary for rough handling.
I’m looking to get $535, open to trades, Japanese stuff is my main interest but like all milsurp rifles/pistols I don’t already have! +/- cash to made a fair trade. Can meet between Logansport and Indy (West side) as I travel for work.
I have my C&R and will need you information for my log book.
