Here's yet another reason not to keep firearms away from your kids. This 11 year old girl used a small pink rifle (looks like a Cricket) to scare off 3 masked intruders. I'd hate to think what could have happened to her had she not had access to a firearm. Kudos to her family for teaching her something about that rifle.

As her father, I would be so verry proud. My 4 year old doughter is getting her first gun (pink 22/410 Rossi single shot combo) for Christmas this year and will start shooting with me every chance we get.

From the article seems to me that the 3 boys ran off after seeing her making a beeline to the bedroom. She did not have the rifle at that time. The boys got spooked after seeing someone in the house after assuming it was empty since they saw the girl's cousin leave.

Both my children know how to shoot all the guns that stay loaded in my house and are taught to "keep pulling the trigger till the gun stops going BANG" Then call 911
