      My friends bought cabin with a pond near Brazil Indiana and they claimed they saw an alligator there. Nobody believed them until his brother shot it, was about 3 feet long and now they have a pretty cool skull adding to their cabin decor. Crazy how people will dump anything anywhere...

      A subsonic load gives about 375 ft lbs of energy, about the same as a 22 magnum. Outside a survival situation I never would.

      bocefus got it right, that state land is a patchwork all over the county so make sure you know where you are. The state land/private property boundaries are not all marked.

      Range is nice, but pinpoint accuracy is also a big plus. My 6mm and my 308 norma mag both shoot well under an inch at 100 yards, quite an improvement over my 44 mag!

      Any opinions on the Savage 42 22/410?

      Well i have two of the older savage model 24 22/410 and they are hea-vy. Definitely not my choice for carrying around all day. And every squirrel I ever shot with the 410 limped away if the shot was over 10 yards.
